RIP

Cliff Robertson, 88

He won an Oscar for his performance in Charly. He is almost as famous for blowing the whistle in 1977 on David Begelmen, then president of Columbia Pictures, for forging his signature on a check for $10K. Begelmen served time for embezzlement, but it was Robertson who became blacklisted for four years in Hollywood for this, despite being the victim of the crime...

Carl Oblesby, 76

Head of Students for a Democratic Society and noted anti-war activist of the 60s...

Andy Whitfield, 39

Star of the Starz TV series Spartacus...

Wardell Quezergue, 81

New Orleans musical composer known as "Creole Beethoven" and best known for the hit "Chapel of Love" by the Dixie Cups...

Ralph J. Lomma, 87

Founder of Lomma Enterprises, the world's largest manufacturer of miniature golf courses, or as the Wall Street Journal would describe it, "carpeted putting greens decorated with animated whales, tricky ramps and rotating windmills..."
